Amy Ray first became known as “one of the Grammy-winning Indigo Girls” and later as an out lesbian.  Let it Ring is from her second solo album Prom. I first heard the song performed at an Indigo Girls concert, where Amy dedicated it to “the guy with the anti-sodomy sign” outside the venue.
