Living ~400lbs

… and believe me I am still alive

Thankful Thursday

[a not-always-weekly exercise in gratitude]

1) A close friend was rear-ended; the car is probably totaled but friend is only sore (and yes, got checked out by the doc to be sure).

2) Other friends have survived their respective moves.

3) Work is less boring this week.   Much more busy, but less boring.

4) Bacon-wrapped scallops and laughter after work tonight.

5) A general lack of drama in my life.

  1. lack of drama..always good

  2. Everyone should be thankful for bacon wrapped scallops every day!

  3. Lack of drama (in general!) + bacon-wrapped scallops is the way to cap off a good Thursday! :)

  4. I’m with noceleryplease; bacon wrapped scallops would totally make my afternoon too!

My own thankfuls? Adam D and I finished our HomeBuyer Education classes last night so now we can hunt in earnest for a house. And I get to leave work in an hour to go bellydance!! :)

Enjoy the glorious lack of life-drama!!!

  5. I’m not such a fan of things wrapped in bacon, but I can’t imagine anything my husband would enjoy more than bacon-wrapped scallops. And lack of drama is always good.

I’ve got a baby fast asleep in her crib for her long afternoon nap, a son who is being uncharacteristically subdued, and a delicious chicken salad sandwich with a glass of cranberry lemonade. All I have to do today is put in one load of laundry, watch two episodes of “Friday Night Lights” (and then I’m all caught up), and work on a pair of socks I’m knitting. Can’t say I’ve got anything to complain about. ;)

Oh, and my husband is talking to his boss today about the raise his move to a postdoc will entail. We’re hoping that, between that and my teaching a couple of classes in the fall–which I should hear about soon–we may actually move into the middle class.
