Dancing?

At the BBW Bash I attended in Vegas, I was a bit surprised to find that Queen’s Fat Bottomed Girls was the “theme” song. I hadn’t know the song (I grew up listening to Country & Western) but noticed it got everyone on the dance floor.

Also featured was Sir Mix-a-Lot’s Baby Got Back, a song I’d initially disliked but warmed to at a friend’s parties. He’d always include it in the song mix. It always got all the girls dancing, not just the plus-size girls.

Any other songs out there extoling the plus-size gal?

One song that is on my playlist is EU’s “Da Butt.” If you watch the video, it’s people of all sizes dancing around and having a good time.

Eh, I feel pretty ambivalent about Baby Got Back. However much he likes the big booty, he still says he wants the tiny waist to go with it. (“When a girl walks in with an itty-bitty waist and a round thing in your face…”)

Rebecca – That’s part of why I initially disliked it, myself – seemed to only want the pear-shaped girls :)

I’ve always considered “Brick House” by the Commodores to be about fat girls, although the lyrics include “36 24 36”.

one song tht I like that isn’t necessarily about fat girls… but it ring true for me cause I have been told all my life that fat = ugly is Jason Mraz’s Beauty in ugy

Have you heard Jonathan Coulton’s cover of “Baby Got Back”?
A soulful folk/pop number with an acoustic guitar — strangely awesome.
